Cheers to the Friday Five

This week has flown by faster than most! It's been busy...but a good busy. Anyway, let's move along to five random things currently going on in my world.

One: Napa Valley Trip

We had a fabulous time visiting Napa Valley last weekend. More details and pics coming next week!

Bad iPhone pic...saving the good ones for next week! :)

Two: Continued Anniversary Celebration

We accidentally left the top of our wedding cake at the bed and breakfast where my family/wedding party stayed during our wedding weekend. The owners of the Iron Horse Inn are beyond amazing and had done all the necessary wrapping, sealing, etc. to prepare our cake topper to sit in the freezer for a year...and then we went off and left it. Well, that actually turned out to be a good thing. They saved our cake for us for an entire year {plus a week}...and we'll be eating it this weekend because my always-thoughtful and generous mom booked the little cottage at the B&B for us to celebrate our anniversary.  We're pretty excited to venture out to Granbury this weekend for a little romantic getaway/extended anniversary celebration.

A little throwback to one year ago at the Iron Horse Inn

Three: CMA Awards

There are two nights of TV that I just can't miss: the CMA Awards and the ACM Awards. Hands down, the best TV nights of the year. While I was terribly disappointed in this year's CMA Entertainer of the Year {you KNOW George Strait should have won...there was NOTHING that even compared to his Cowboy Rides Away tour!}, there were a few things about this year's CMA Awards that I loved, including:
  • The hosts. Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood are HA-LAR-ious together. Seriously had me laughing out loud. Sidenote: Carrie might be the cutest little preggo lady ever to exist...and she had 12 wardrobe changes.  TWELVE!
  • George Strait & Eric Church on the stage at the same time. I obviously love George Strait the most, but I kinda have a thing for Eric Church too!
  • Miranda Lambert...Although she seemed a bit unemotional throughout the night, the girl looks GOOD! Period.Dot.Done.

Four: Daylight Savings Time

I want to thank daylight savings time for making it a little easier to get out of bed this week. I struggle in the mornings the way it is, but I was really hating life when my alarm went off while it was still pitch black outside. I think I may have even been nice in the mornings this least a couple of days. While I don't love that it's nearly dark when I leave the office at night, I prefer that over having to drag myself out of bed when it looks/feels like the middle of the night.

Five: Blog Love

  • Wishes For My Daughter, by Tawna @ All of Life's Little Adventures. She lists the lessons/tidbits of wisdom she hopes her daughter will learn and carry with her throughout her life. Great reminder of important things in life!
  • 5 Lessons My Daughter has Taught Me, by Tawna @ All of Life's Little Adventures. This is the follow-up to the above post.
  • Winter Fashion Faux Pas, by Katie @ Life at 4,984 Feet. This just cracked me up! Although I may be guilty of wearing leggings with dresses on occasion {but you can't tell they're leggings if I'm wearing boots, right?!?}
