Due Date: August 5, 2015
How far along? 13 weeks
Total weight gain: 6 pounds. Too many for this early in the game...but I'm going to blame part of it on the holidays.
Stretch marks?: No. I'm mixing St. Ives lotion with collagen elastin and Bio-Oil in hopes of warding off any and all stretch marks!
Symptoms: I've been so very lucky. I hate to rub this in because I have some very close friends who have had a terrible time with morning {24-hour} sickness. I've only been sick a handful of times, and I think some of that may have been self inflicted {i.e. I waited until I was starving to eat and then I ate too much/too fast}. Other than that, all I know is that I feel exhausted ALL.THE.TIME. Everyone tells me this will get better, and I am counting down the days until I get back even just a little bit of energy! Oh, and about a million trips to the bathroom throughout the day...and night.
Maternity clothes?: Not yet...but most of my "normal" clothes stopped fitting comfortably late last week. I did order a couple BellaBands so I can continue to wear my "normal" slacks to work for awhile...but I'm finding that dresses are becoming much more comfortable than pants! A couple of pairs of my jeans still fit comfortably, but, outside of work, I'm kinda living in leggings and yoga pants.
Sleep: Sleeping well at night has always been a challenge for me, so I was prepared for this to get worse. I definitely have no trouble falling asleep, but I wake up multiple times throughout the night. I might be the best napper on the planet though, so I don't have a problem making up for lost nighttime sleep.
Cravings: I cannot get enough orange juice...and it has to be Simply Orange with medium pulp. And spaghetti. I can't even remember the last time I ate spaghetti before last week, but we've had it twice within seven days {and I ate the leftovers in between...which says a lot because I'm usually not big on leftovers}. Oh, and, my sweet tooth is out of control; it might be stronger than it was before I was pregnant, if that's even possible!
Food Aversions: Grilled chicken. Unless it's on nachos...I'm ok with fajita chicken nachos!
Mood: Ahhhh...I'm a roller-coaster of emotions. {Non-emotional} commercials on TV can might make me cry. And I guarantee my eyes are going to be watery any time I see a baby. I know I've essentially been bi-polar for the past several weeks, and I'm so grateful to my fabulous husband for just taking it in stride...and never questioning the crazy mood swings {I think he fears I may throw something at him...probably shouldn't have mentioned to him that Jenny McCarthy broke several remotes by throwing them at her husband! By the way, Belly Laughs is pretty entertaining!}
Gender: We'll find out in two weeks. CANNOT.WAIT!
Baby Movement: The little midget was bopping around all over the place on the sonogram, but I haven't felt a thing yet.
Best moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat and seeing our tiny little baby dancing around on the sonogram screen. I cried. I've never been able to see anything when my friends would show me their sonogram photos {please don't be mad if you're reading this and I pretended to see your baby in those blurry shades of black and white}, but it was pretty much the coolest thing ever when we could actually see his/her little feet kicking up a storm!
Worst Moment this week: I felt so bad that our first child {Lily} wasn't in our announcement photo. In an effort to make sure she felt included in this crazy/exciting time, I forced her to let her try on the baby's first gift: a Jayhawk bib {or cape for Miss Lily} from Grammy. Yes, I realize this makes me a bit of a crazy dog mom...what does it mean for my future as a mom to a tiny human?!!?
Miss Anything? Deli meat. I didn't realize just how much I love cold sandwiches!
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender of our tiny babe! Just a couple of weeks!
