As I sit down to write this letter in honor of Mother’s
Day, I think of the countless positive qualities you possess that I could write
about, but instead I’m going to focus on something else. Gratitude.
I don’t say it nearly often enough, but I hope you know that I’m
incredibly grateful for everything that you do for us…and grateful for the
woman that you are.
Thank you.
Thank you for welcoming me into your family with open
arms and accepting me just as I am.
Thank you for extending your love and acceptance beyond
just me by also building and maintaining relationships with my parents and
family.
Thank you for being a planner, like me! :) But also, thank you for being so very
flexible and understanding in trying to coordinate holidays and family
get-togethers. Although the time we all
get to spend together is very limited given the miles between us, it truly is
priceless…and thank you for helping us all to make the very most of it!
Thank you for being a symbol of strength…the true glue
that binds the family together.
Most importantly, thank you for raising such an
incredible man whom I’m beyond grateful to call my husband. Ryan is like you in many, many ways. An immeasurable level of patience and the
desire to make everyone happy are two of your most prominent characteristics
that I see in your son on a daily basis.
The respect and admiration he has for you and his sisters shines through
every single day in the way he treats me. Thank you for incorporating such
strong morals and values into his upbringing. Thanks for teaching him that
family is the single-most important thing to nurture and protect in this crazy,
chaotic world. Thank you for helping to
mold him into the man he is today…my husband, the love of my life, my best
friend.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Happy Mother’s Day.
I love you.
