Bumpdate: 27 Weeks

Due Date: August 5, 2015

How far along?: 27 weeks, 5 days

Gender: It's a BOY!

Total weight gain:  I've decided to wait to learn this tidbit of information until we go back to the doctor next Monday.

Stretch marks?: Haven't noticed any yet...still lathering on a mixture of Bio-Oil and St. Ives lotion every night.

Symptoms: My legs/feet have been falling asleep while I sit at my desk. I've been taking this as an indication that I need to get up and move around...a few times I've even gone out and walked around the block.

Maternity clothes?:  Absolutely! I leave tomorrow for a four-day conference for work, and let me tell you, finding professional looking maternity clothes has been a bit of a challenge! Thank goodness the conference is business casual for the most part, so I'll be able to get by with the dresses/cardigans I've been wearing to the office. Plus, I've learned that people really give you a break when you're obviously pregnant. A couple of times I've been asked why on earth I'm wearing heels at this point when I could be more comfortable in flats. Believe me, I'm rocking flats 90% of the time!

Sleep:  Last week I reverted back to the days of the first trimester when I had to squeeze in a nap during my lunch hour. I felt so tired All.The.Time! I got some good rest over the weekend, and I feel like I have a little more energy than I did last hopefully that was just a short-lived phase of exhaustion. I'm well aware that I'm likely going to feel more tired and need more rest during this final trimester, but I'm not quite ready to give up all of my energy just's to hoping I can squeeze out a couple more weeks of staying up past 9:00 pm!

Cravings:  No new food cravings to report. I'm still eating LOTS of watermelon!

Workouts: Walks...when it's not raining. Lily and I have been caught in the rain TWICE in the past week while we've been out for walks. Luckily we were super close to the house both times and could rush home before we got too wet. There's no way I'm going to venture too far from home when there's a chance of you really think I'd risk having to wash/blow dry my hair when it doesn't really need it?!!?

Best Moment of the Week: Celebrating Mother's Day as a momma-to-be. I didn't really think much about the special holiday being for me since our little guy isn't here yet, but my always-thoughtful husband made me feel very honored and spoiled. Of course the card he gave me and the sweet message he wrote made me cry {happy, happy tears!}...and I can't wait to use my gift certificate for a prenatal massage! Thank you so much, Ryan, for making Mother's Day so very special for this momma-to-be!

Oh, and Baby Olivia's birth last Tuesday {May 5th} was also a pretty fantastic moment. More details to come in a post later this week...

Mood: Just slightly emotional...but in a good way! As we sat in church on Mother's Day, I felt the tears filling my eyes every single time something was mentioned about mothers {moms singing with their kids in the youth choir; a song/slide-show tribute to mothers, pretty much anything mom-related}. I'm just so grateful and very excited to be joining the motherhood club!

Nursery: Now that we've chosen the fabric for his bedding, we've started working on ideas for accessories and decor. We've narrowed it down to one glider/rocking chair, but now I'm being indecisive on upholstery for the chair. I want it to be neutral so we can use it outside the nursery later on, but I can't decide if I want tan or dark brown. Any thoughts from experienced mommies on what is going to look the best/stay the cleanest?

Movement: He's a mover and a shaker these days! The other night I was relaxing in a bubble bath and he kicked so hard that my belly moved and made the water ripple a bit. I'm still loving the feeling of his kicks and jabs...I haven't felt anything painful yet!

Wedding Rings:  On, but I could really tell my fingers swelled a couple of days last week when it was ridiculously humid outside. They seem to be back to normal now.

Belly Button: In, but it is definitely flattening.

Looking Forward To: Hearing our sweet boy's heartbeat and learning his measurements at next week's OB appointment.
