Bumpdate: 30 Weeks

Due Date: August 5, 2015

How far along?: 30 weeks, 5 days

Gender: It's a BOY!

Total weight gain:  I'll find out at tomorrow's doctor appointment. I haven't intentionally been avoiding the scales at home, but I haven't thought about weighing myself either. I guess I'm finally just accepting that I'm gaining weight...and I'm ok with that in order to bring a healthy baby boy into this world in just two short months!

Stretch marks?: The very faint and small lines that I noticed on my sides haven't changed at all...thank goodness they're not growing or getting darker! I'm still mixing the Bio-Oil and St. Ives lotion and lathering it on every night.

Symptoms: No new symptoms this week, but I feel like this belly of mine is seriously growing bigger each and every day. It's no longer a gradual change...just bigger and bigger every morning when I get out of bed.

Maternity clothes?:  Of course, nearly 100% of the time. Still in search of something cute for upcoming baby showers. It would probably help if I'd actually go to the store and look for something...but trying on clothes when I feel as big as a barn isn't exactly my idea of fun! Hopefully I'll actually get around to shopping this week/weekend.

Sleep:  It seems like I get one night of decent sleep followed by a night with insomnia.  The sleepless nights usually include 3-4 hours of feeling WIDE.AWAKE, so much so that I've been getting up and doing stuff around the house {is that part of the whole "nesting" process?!!?}. And then the cycle starts over again. I won't complain too much as long as I'm still getting some decent quality sleep every other night. Oh, and those 10-15 minutes naps I can squeeze in at lunch are my salvation these days!

Cravings:  I'm seriously stuck on a grilled cheese kick. I had one for lunch three days in a row last week...and then again on Sunday. And thank goodness it's watermelon season!

Best Moment of the Week: I can't think of a specific "best moment" from this past week, but it was a pretty good week in general. I do want to mention some fabulous news regarding a friend of mine. She delivered twins last week at exactly 32 weeks, and both of the teeny tiny babies are doing better than expected. Momma is doing well too! The little babes will be in the NICU for awhile, but they're little fighters and doing exceptionally well so far. Here's a pic of Jordan and me just five days before her twins were born...

Jordan, 31 Weeks {with twins} and Me, 29 Weeks

Worst Moment of the Week: Our electricity was out from 2:00 am until about 4:00 pm last Friday due to the bad thunderstorms. As though I don't have a hard enough time getting ready in the mornings, it was nearly impossible with no power! I made it to work with ponytail hair, minimal makeup and the most comfortable outfit I could find in the dark closet! We'll just say I wasn't exactly looking professional. Thank goodness by very understanding boss let me skip out on an issuer meeting that I was supposed to attend that morning.

Workouts: Just walking around the neighborhood. It looks like the sun is going to be shining most of this week, so I plan to get in as many walks as possible. Gotta do it as much as I can now before the dead heat of the Texas summer settles in.

Mood: Anxiety is starting to set in...mainly the fear that we're not going to get everything done before our little guy arrives {which I know wouldn't be the end of the world...but my control-freak self wants everything D.O.N.E...and I'd like it done RIGHT.NOW!}. I've started making lists, which I'm sure just thrills Ryan to no end. He's such a trooper though...just takes it all in stride...and gets sh!t done so I can victoriously check it off the list!

Nursery: Right now, his nursery is a big mess! Full of boxes and gift bags that I don't want to unpack just yet/am not sure where to store at the moment, but I'm on a mission to get it {at least somewhat} organized this coming weekend. The pegboard that will hang above the changing table is painted. Now we just need to order the wire baskets that will hold all the supplies. They only carry black baskets at Home Depot, and I've envisioned white or we're still on the hunt. I hope to pick up the rocker/glider this week so we can really start to figure out how everything is going to be arranged in his room.

Movement: He still must have some room to wiggle around in there because I'm always feeling him move. At our last appointment, the doctor thought his head was already down, but I'm anxious to see what position he is in when we see him on the sonogram monitor tomorrow. I feel the most movement on the lower left side of my tummy...can't help but wonder if those are his little hands or feet that are jabbing me.  Oh! He really gets to dancing around if I drink soda...not sure if that means he loves or hates sugar/caffeine. He definitely reacts though.

Wedding Rings:  On.

Belly Button: In.

Looking Forward To: Of course the biggest thing I'm looking forward to is seeing our baby boy via sonogram at tomorrow's appointment. We also have our Prepared Childbirth class this weekend. I'm not exactly looking forward to seven hours of class {in a freezing hospital!}, but I'm excited to check this off the list and have more knowledge under our belts about what to expect during the labor and delivery process {which I'm still completely terrified of at the current moment}.
