Bumpdate: 35 Weeks

Due Date: August 5, 2015

How far along?: 35 weeks, 4 days

Gender: It's a BOY!

Name: Huston Robert  {more details here}

Total weight gain:  Either the scale at home was lying last week with a lighter-than-actual weight or I gained a solid five pounds overnight before my last OB appointment...but anyway, according to the "official" scale at the doctor's office, I am up a total of 33 pounds.

Stretch marks?: No visible stretch marks...but I've just learned that sometimes stretch marks appear AFTER the baby is born when the belly shrinks back down.  I'm hoping that symptom/side effect skips right over my body.

Symptoms: No more pain in my hip! {Thank you, Dr. Wes!}

Maternity clothes?:  ALL.THE.TIME! It's not the bump that is hard to's what lies above the bump! I'm having a very hard time finding pieces that fit over my chest but don't fall off the rest of my body. It's ridiculous...seriously. I totally understand that it's just part of it, my body preparing to feed the tiny babe...but holy moly, it's a bit excessive...and I'm not sure it's possible for these boobs to grow any more. No joke.

Sleep:  I can't get enough of it. I'm sooooo sleepy these days. I've seriously been going to bed between 9:00 and 9:30 every night. I guess maybe my body is trying to store all the sleep it can before the little guy arrives and takes it all away.

Cravings:  Still obsessed with watermelon...but I've also found a new addiction: Chick-fil-A fresh-squeezed lemonade. This isn't a bad addiction per se...except for the fact that the drive through line at Chick-fil-A is ALWAYS at least seven cars deep no matter what time of day it is and no matter which location I visit.

Best Moment of the Week: Celebrating the 4th of July! Obviously it was pretty low-key being a million months pregnant and all, but it was still fun. The country club where Ryan works has a big celebration with a huge fireworks show on July 3, so we went up there on Friday evening. Ryan was part of the dunk tank to raise money for charity, and it was pretty funny to see several of his junior golf students wanting to dunk him!

I attempted to be patriotic on the 4th by wearing red, white and blue...this is as good as it got! {And once again, THANK YOU to Christine and Rachael for letting me borrow these maternity clothes!}

Workouts: Lily and I have attempted a few walks around the neighborhood, but I'll be the first to admit they've been fairly short walks due to the heat. It's Lily that gets hot and tired...not me!  :)

Mood: I'm super cranky in the mornings, but my mood seems to lighten around 10:00 or 10:30 am. I'm blaming it on constantly being tired and just feeling HUGE and a little uncomfortable. Around 10:00 or 10:30 I realize how grouchy I was earlier in the morning, so I send Ryan an apology text...and this happens nearly every day. You'd think I'd figure it out and just be nicer in the mornings, but that hasn't happened as of yet. Please don't give up on me, Babe...I promise I don't mean to take it out on you {and Lily}.

Nursery: We're continuing to make progress on the nursery little bits at a time. Pictures to come when it's complete. We also got some important stuff done outside the nursery this past weekend. The car seat is installed, and the Rock-n-Play is assembled. Thus, we can actually get our baby boy home and we have a place for him to sleep {in our room} once he's at home. I'm so thankful to my fabulous husband for so willingly appeasing me in checking things off the to-do list. Our son is gonna be a lucky little guy to have him for a dad!

Movement: He had the hiccups for the first time last week, but he hasn't had them again since. They seemed to last for several minutes; I was starting to feel sorry for the little guy because I know how annoying hiccups can be. Although it was a strange feeling, this momma was loving the constant little movements.

Wedding Rings:  On...most of the time. If I'm outside in the heat {or maybe it's the humidity???} for very long, my fingers begin to swell to the point my rings feel tight, so I've been leaving them off when I'm out and about in the heat.

Belly Button: In.

Other Updates: We met with and interviewed a pediatrician, and that was a success! Check that off the to-do list.

Looking Forward To: I know this has been the objective all along, but now we're really starting to look forward to his arrival! We're less than a month out now, so it's getting REAL. We cannot wait to meet our baby boy!
