Bumpdate 2.0: 17 Weeks

Due Date: December 1, 2017

How far along?: 17 weeks

Gender: It's a BOY!

Total weight gain:  I'm not real sure on this, but I'm going to estimate 10-11ish pound weight-gain.

Stretch marks?: No stretch marks. I haven't yet started using the lotion/oil that I used last time to prevent stretch marks...I really need to get on that.

Symptoms: Although I was a bit hesitant to admit that I thought I'd turned the corner and moved on to feeling better last week {because I didn't want to jinx it}, I can fully attest this week that I am feeling MUCH, MUCH better. Thank goodness!

Maternity clothes?: I'm still finding myself in that awkward stage where my normal clothes definitely don't fit right, but my maternity clothes are still too big.  I'm wearing mostly maternity clothes for work, but I can still lounge around the house in stretchy shorts/yoga pants. Although I definitely have a good-sized bump, my chest is the biggest issue when it comes to needing bigger sizes. Why must they grow so much?!!?

Sleep:  I'm sleeping so well. Some nights I have to get up and move to the couch where I can lay right underneath a vent to keep cool, but I definitely don't have any issues falling asleep.

Cravings: The newest craving is fruit-flavored yogurt. I can't get enough! Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks...I eat it all the time.

Food Aversions: I can't think of anything new in the food department that I'm disliking.

Mood: I feel happy {and tired} almost all of the time. Ryan likes to point out that I laugh uncontrollably when I'm pregnant at things that I typically wouldn't even find funny. I haven't been feeling any of the emotional roller-coaster side effects this go 'round...probably because chasing after Huston keeps me too busy to even THINK about my emotions.

Movement: I can say with 100% confidence that I felt the little guy wiggling around today {multiple times}! I think I'd forgotten what it felt like when Huston was wiggling around in my belly, but the best way to explain the feeling I had today was like your tummy drops when you ride in an elevator. I texted Ryan to tell him about it because I was so excited...and he was excited too but disappointed that he missed out on being with me. I'm guessing it'll still be a few weeks before he'll be able to feel the little guy kicking around from the outside, but I know he's anxiously looking forward to that moment.

Worst Moment of the Week:  It's not really a "bad" moment...just kind of bittersweet. I think that Huston is possibly starting to realize his time as an only child is coming to an end. We talk about the baby and read "Big Brother" books, and he knows "Brother" is in Momma's tummy {actually sometimes he thinks the baby is in HIS tummy}, but he's been verrrrrry attached to Momma the past few days. Yesterday he wanted me to hold him ALL.THE.TIME {"Carry me, Momma, Carry!" "Hoooooad me, Momma!"}. I've been cuddling with him a little longer each night, singing a few extra songs before putting him down in his crib and just cherishing and soaking in all the little moments I possibly can.

Best Moment of the Week:  Celebrating Father's Day! We are truly, truly blessed with an incredible daddy for our family. He goes out of his way every single day to make sure we have everything we need and are happy. As I said in my Instagram/Facebook post, "He has FAR exceeded even my highest expectations as a husband and even more so as a father. I don't express my gratitude and appreciation for all he does nearly often enough, but I'm truly grateful to be traveling this parenting journey with him!" It was such a great day just spent with our little family. We went to church and brunch, and then we came home and went swimming for the first time this year. Huston was a little apprehensive at first, but he ended up LOVING the pool/water and didn't want to leave. After we all had naps, Ryan blew up H's new bounce house and we all played in the back yard while Ryan grilled burgers. It was the perfect day!

Father's Day 2017

Miss Anything?: Cold deli sandwiches! I've given in a couple of times and eaten sandwiches with warm ham...but it's just not the same as my very favorite cold ham & pickle sandwich!

Looking Forward To: Seeing our new little guy on the sonogram screen in a couple of weeks!
